Start by checking whether the video already offers an audio track in your language. If it does not, you can read translated subtitles or listen with EMSI DUB on your computer.
EMSI DUB is a desktop Chrome extension. It cannot be installed in the mobile YouTube app.
1. Check the video's available audio tracks
Open the YouTube player's settings and look for an audio track in the language you want. If it is listed, select it and listen directly on YouTube without an extension.
YouTube's native dubbed audio is available only for certain videos and language pairs. Availability can vary by channel, source language, video length, speech quality, and other eligibility factors. A missing language usually means that track is not available for that particular video.
When the audio track you want is missing, EMSI DUB can cover that gap by generating translated subtitles and speech while you watch in desktop Chrome.

2. Choose whether to read or listen
To follow the words: translated subtitles
If the video has captions, open YouTube's subtitle settings, choose automatic translation, and select your language. Translated subtitles change the text on screen, while the original voice continues to play.
To keep your eyes on the video: AI dubbing
EMSI DUB provides translated subtitles and translated speech as a YouTube video plays. It can help with tutorials, lectures, interviews, and game guides when YouTube does not offer the audio language you need. Voice quality and preparation time depend on the source video, language pair, and selected voice.
A video without source captions may require speech recognition before it can be translated. Available recognition methods and included usage vary by plan, so a short video with clear source-language captions is a good first test.

3. Start your first dub on a computer
- Create an account. Sign up with Google or email. Review the current trial offer on the site before you begin.
- Add EMSI DUB to Chrome. Open the extension after installation and connect the account you created on the website.
- Open a video you want to watch. Choose your preferred listening language and start dubbing. For your first test, try a short video with clear captions.

Can I use dubbing on my phone?
The EMSI DUB extension currently runs in desktop Chrome. You can read this guide or create an account on your phone, then install the extension and watch the video on a computer.
Is regular dubbing the same as Premium Voice?
Regular dubbing and Premium Voice, which uses advanced cloud voices, have separate included usage. Check the voice you selected and your remaining time in your account. Compare both allowances on the pricing page.
I can see translated subtitles, but I hear no dubbed speech.
Check that you selected dubbing or voice output instead of subtitle-only mode. Also check the video and extension volume, and make sure the Chrome tab is not muted. See troubleshooting steps by symptom.
Do I need to upload the video?
No video-file upload is required. EMSI DUB works from the YouTube watch page. See the Privacy Policy for information about how data used for translation is handled.
Start with a video you have wanted to understand
